Treat a very special friend or yourself to one of these museum quality hand-crafted tea cozies. Each piece is completely covered with chain stitching forming unique patterns and color combinations. Because they are hand-crafted, no two cozies are exactly alike.

These unique elephant tea cozies are created on a hand-woven pre-shrunk cotton cloth base. The surface is covered with intricate patterns using either woolen or silken threads. The continuous chain stitch embroidery is applied by using a hook called an "aree" instead of a needle. Because of the large number of fine neat stitches intricately placed in continuous patterns all over these elephant cozies, none of the cotton base cloth can be seen; an indicator of the quality of the cozies found here.

Sizing and Care of Your Tea Cozy

Marilyn's Originals ™, Decorative Tea Cozies are all the same size and will fit 6-8 cup teapots. The ribbons allow them to adjust to fit both extra fat and extra tall teapots.

Marilyn's Original Tea Cozies are very well constructed and lined with Insul-Bright lining. This lining assures that your tea will stay hot! All the cozies on the site are washable and come with a Care Tag. The Care Tag for the cotton tea cozies state: machine wash, mild soap, no bleach, tumble dry. The Care Tag for the silk cozy indicates hand-washable, drip dry. Dupioni silk is washable because it's a natural fabric. Secure stitching assures that the lining stays neatly in place, washing after washing.

Tea Cozy Etiquette

Some tea cozies simply sit atop your teapot and must be removed to pour. Marilyn's Originals ™, Decorative Tea Cozies do not need to be removed when pouring tea. They don't need to be removed at all. That's just one of the reasons they are so beautiful. They can remain on a teapot even between fillings with hot water.
