Opalina, Japan Design is the name imprinted on the back of this porcelain demitasse cup and saucer. While both pieces have gold gilding, the predominate features of these pieces are the intricate bands of patterns which surround both the saucer and the footed cup. Rusts and golds and the image of leaves and pumpkins make this lovely set a little less formal but elegant at the same time.

The cup stands 2 1/2 inches high and with the gilded handle, 3 1/4 inches. The saucer is 4 3/8 inches across. The cups holds approximately 2 ounces of tea. But don't confine this beauty to tea. You could use it for coffee, an appetizer, or a nice portion controlled dessert!
