This unique elephant tea cozy was created on a hand-woven pre-shrunk cotton cloth base. The surface is covered with intricate patterns using woolen threads. The continuous chain stitch embroidery is applied by using a hook called an "aree" instead of a needle. Because of the large number of fine neat stitches intricately placed in continuous patterns all over this elephant cozy, cotton base cloth cannot be seen; an indicator of the quality of the cozy.

Handcrafted in Kashmir, this exquisite tea cozy is embroidered with wool fibers certain to keep your tea piping hot for hours. After all, legend says that the first cozy was crafted of wool by a farmers wife. When coming in from work, her husband threw his woolen cap on the table and it landed on the teapot. Be sure to measure your teapot. The inside circumference of this cozy is 21 inches but it does widen at 3 1/2 inches from the bottom to 29 inches to accommodate the spout.
